As Editor-In-Chief of my high school yearbook for two years, I wrote this piece as a closing to my Senior year of high school. The theme of the yearbook was “Work of Art.”
When I was a Junior in high school, I climbed a mountain. Specifically, I summitted one of the highest peaks in Wyoming. The entire trip took fourteen days, but this specific piece was inspired during the seventh day just after we had reached the peak of the mountain. We had to dig picks into the snow and slide down the face of the mountain. I will never be more terrified.
